Scroll

Breast augmentation with a breast lift is a safe, natural-looking cosmetic procedure that enhances and lifts the breasts, giving you a perkier, fuller appearance. Breast augmentation with lift is the surgery of choice for women who want to either increase or restore their breast size while eliminating loose skin and sagging breasts.

Led by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David B. Brothers, the Plastic Surgery Center of Atlanta offers breast augmentation with a breast lift for women who desire both an increase in size as well as an improvement of breast elevation. Dr. Brothers sees patients from Sandy Springs, Decatur, Duluth, and other surrounding areas.

What Is Breast Augmentation With Lift?

When it comes to the various breast surgeries available, there is something for everyone. Some women desire larger breasts, some want smaller breasts, and others want to correct sagging and droopy breasts. For those that wish to correct sagging while increasing their breast size and shape, breast augmentation with a lift is the surgery that addresses both issues. This combination procedure consists of breast augmentation and a breast lift which are performed in a single surgery.

Breast Augmentation With Lift Procedure

Breast augmentation with lift tightens and lifts your existing breast tissue. Then, breast implants are placed into the breast to provide a fuller, firmer appearance. Together, the two procedures leave the breasts with skin that perfectly envelopes the new volume from the breast implants.

What Are My Implant Choices?

Similar to stand-alone breast augmentation, breast augmentation with a breast lift uses saline or silicone implants to add volume to the breasts. These implants are available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, textures, and profiles so that you can find the implant that is best suited for your needs. During your consultation, Dr. Brothers will discuss the final look (size, volume, shape, and projection) you wish to achieve and consider your current breast size and shape. Selecting the right type of implant is instrumental in creating a natural and balanced aesthetic.

Breast implants are available with one of two different fill materials: saline and silicone.

Saline Implants: These breast implants are round and contain saline or saltwater as the filling agent. Saline implants are filled during the procedure (other implants come pre-filled) and create a natural look in patients with naturally thick breast tissue.

Silicone Implants: These breast implants are medical-grade silicone and are pre-filled with a cohesive silicone gel. Silicone implants are available in both round and teardrop shapes. Although a slightly larger incision is usually necessary, they create a natural look.

What Are My Breast Lift Incision Options?

Breast lift surgery is performed alongside a breast augmentation to raise the breasts by tightening sagging tissues. This allows the new implants to be well-supported.

You have a few incision options, depending on your severity of breast ptosis (sagging). The specific lift dictates your breast lift scars.

What Is a Crescent Lift?

The crescent lift is ideal for women with minimal sagging or combining a breast lift with breast augmentation. A small, crescent-shaped incision is made along the top edge of the areola. Once it is fully healed, it blends in with the darker pigment and is inconspicuous.

What Is the Periareolar (“Donut”) Lift?

This is similar to the crescent lift and is recommended for mild sagging. An incision is made around the whole areola, the breast tissue is lifted, the implant placed, and the areola size reduced.

What Is the Vertical (“Lollipop”) Lift?

The lollipop lift (the scar resembles a lollipop) is ideal for women with moderate sagging. The incision runs around the areola and extends down towards the bottom of the breast.

What Is the Anchor Lift?

Perhaps the most popular type of lift—it gives the most significant improvement—the anchor lift is simply a lollipop lift with an additional horizontal incision that runs the length of the fold. This is the best option for significant or extreme sagging since it results in the most tightening and repositioning..

What Is Recovery Like After Breast Augmentation With Lift?

Breast augmentation with lift surgery is an outpatient procedure, and you will be sent home to recover shortly after your operation. You will be wearing a post-surgical bra or compression garment to protect your breasts and the incisions. The bra also promotes circulation and reduces swelling. You should expect to experience bruising, swelling, tenderness, and tightness in the breasts that may persist for a few days to a few weeks. Some women also report itching, redness, discomfort, and a temporary loss of breast sensation. Your scars will be most noticeable after surgery, but with time they will begin to fade.

Prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication can alleviate any post-operative discomfort. It is best to fill any prescriptions before your surgery.

It can take upwards of six weeks to heal. Most women resume work and non-strenuous activities within one week. Vigorous exercise, including heavy lifting, should be limited for a period of at least three to six weeks. It’s also important not to lift your arms over your head until Dr. Brothers has given clearance.

How Much Does Breast Augmentation With Lift Cost in Atlanta?

The cost of breast augmentation with lift varies by patient. After your consultation, we will provide a detailed cost estimate that includes the applicable fees for Dr. Brothers and his surgical staff, as well as any necessary medical supplies and your follow-up care.

Financing is available through CareCredit®, and we also accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards.

Breast Augmentation With Lift FAQs

  • How should I choose my breast enhancement plastic surgeon?

Breast lift surgery required extensive knowledge and skin. As with all plastic surgery procedures, your results are dependent on your plastic surgeon. It is essential to seek an experienced breast surgeon with whom you feel comfortable. Dr. Brothers is a board-certified plastic surgeon with years of experience performing breast surgeries. The choice of your plastic surgeon is among the most significant decisions that you will make in this process.

We recommend that you schedule a consultation with Dr. Brothers to discuss your case.

  • What type of Anesthesia is used for breast augmentation with lift surgery?

Breast surgery is an invasive procedure. Your surgery will likely be performed under sedation or general anesthesia. This anesthesia allows for both safety and comfort.

  • Will I have scars after my procedure?

Yes. Scars are a normal part of the surgical process, and unfortunately, there is no way to avoid them. These scars will develop along the incision lines, and therefore, their extent will depend on the incision option chosen.

All scars will fade with time and can be hidden with bras and bathing suits.

The type of scar depends on the technique used. Breast augmentation with lift scars will fade over six months to one year and can be minimized with topical creams and silicone strips.

  • When will I see my results?

You will start to notice your results immediately after your treatment; however, these results will continue to improve over the following weeks as the swelling subsides.

You should see your final results within six weeks.

  • Can I combine breast augmentation with lift surgery with other procedures?

Yes. Many women choose to combine their breast augmentation with lift surgery with other body contouring procedures. A Mommy Makeover combines breast augmentation and lift, liposuction, and a tummy tuck.
