Women are fortunate to have a wide variety of choice when planning a breast augmentation today. The variety of implant types, sizes, widths, profiles, and surface textures means that a surgical approach can be developed that complements every body type.
A study published recently in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, surveyed two groups of women who had breast reconstruction: one group had round implants and one had shaped implants. Both groups reported equal satisfaction with their procedures, regardless of implant shape.
What does this study mean for women who are interested in breast augmentation? It would seem to indicate that there are many different ways to achieve successful results. If you’re considering breast augmentation and need help sorting through all the possibilities, come see Dr. Brothers.
