A common question plastic surgeons are asked is, “Am I too old for plastic surgery?” In this great article from the website Fab Over Fifty, “Julia” discusses her mommy makeover at age 53. She had a very healthy outlook toward her cosmetic surgery and developed realistic expectations about the results. Here’s one quote we love, when “Julia” is describing her results:
Here’s the thing: People didn’t know I had anything done. They couldn’t figure out what was different about me and kept saying stuff like, “Wow, you look great. Did you lose weight? You look so happy.”
In truth, there is no upper age limit for plastic surgery. The overall health of a patient is a better indicator than chronological age, because a 70-year-old in excellent health may be a more suitable candidate for elective cosmetic surgery than an unhealthy 50-year-old.
